The story of El Cotarón
El Cotarón opened its doors after the pandemic, following a lifetime in the hospitality trade.
What began as a simple, humble project soon became a local favourite thanks to the wonderful response from our guests. Our premises, our attention to detail and, above all, our food helped the restaurant grow into the thriving place it is today.
Every dish and every corner of El Cotarón is designed to make you feel at home while you enjoy the best of Asturian cuisine.

El Cotarón sits in a privileged setting, just over 10 minutes from the centre of Gijón.
Its large picnic-style garden and spectacular location offer breathtaking views on sunny days and misty ones alike, creating a truly unique atmosphere.
Close to landmarks such as La Laboral (Universidad Laboral) and the golf course, our location is one of our greatest attractions — perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature without leaving the city behind.

Since opening at the end of the pandemic, we’ve grown thanks to the support of our guests, turning a humble project into the successful restaurant it is today. El Cotarón has spacious, modern facilities designed for your comfort.
We have 150 seats spread across two cosy dining rooms, a glass-walled bar where you can enjoy a drink while taking in the landscape, and a two-level terrace with spectacular views.
We’re also proud to be an accessible venue, with an adapted toilet for guests with reduced mobility, so that everyone can enjoy a complete and comfortable experience.
